Karl has experience with commercial litigation, communications law, administrative law, and intellectual property. 

Prior to joining Deiss Law, Karl worked at the Federal Communications Commission in the office of Commissioner Mignon Clyburn, the University of Utah’s Technology & Venture Commercialization Office, Justice Ronald E. Nehring of the Utah Supreme Court, and the Office of the New York State Inspector General.

Karl graduated from the University of Utah's S.J. Quinney College of Law with honors.  While there, he served as Executive Symposium Editor of the Utah Law Review, planning and hosting the Law Review's Symposium titled Legal Innovation & Modern Entrepreneurship with its related symposium issue

In his free time, Karl enjoys rock climbing, skiing, supporting Real Salt Lake, and volunteering as a mentor to students at Westminster College.  He also serves as the Utah State Director of the Military Spouse J.D. Network.

Karl is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia.
