Alexis Ortega
Alexis Ortega is a litigation paralegal at Deiss Law, with several years of experience helping personal injury clients navigate car and motor vehicle accident claims, truck and commercial vehicle accident cases, slip, trip, and fall premises liability claims, wrongful death actions (Utah Code Ann. § 78B-3-106), uninsured and underinsured motorist claims, and pedestrian and bicycle accident injuries. Her work has spanned everything from serious car and semi-truck accidents to minor fender benders, supporting attorneys in building strong claims, managing medical bills and records, negotiating with insurance carriers, and pursuing favorable settlements for clients. She brings this to a strong foundation in Tribal governance and community leadership, having previously served as a Council Member and Band Council Secretary for the Shivwits Band of Paiutes, working alongside Tribal leadership on policy, budgeting, and community initiatives. She has also completed additional training in financial management through the U.S. Department of Justice and in Tribal sovereignty and economic leadership through UNLV's William S. Boyd School of Law.
A proud enrolled member of the Shivwits Band of Paiutes, Alexis remains deeply engaged in studying Tribal governance, history, and heritage, and attending Tribal leadership and judicial training programs. She lives in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she spends her free time hiking the Wasatch trails, discovering new restaurants, and catching live music around the city.
